Eu mesma sou uma das que dá pulos de alegria quando vejo uma gorda estampando capa de revista ou fazendo campanhas fora do nicho da moda Plus Size. Esse sentimento ainda é considerado crucial para que mulheres gordas se amem e se orgulhem de serem quem são.
Mas a representatividade não pode ser só uma palavra jogada ao vento, ou pior, palavra usada apenas com o intuito de lucrar. Claro que esse é o interesse maior de todas as empresas, mas, de que adianta todo um discurso empoderador se as próprias organizações não são um lugar seguro para essas minorias?
A Skol fez uma campanha super bacana sobre sair do seu quadrado e perder a vergonha de qualquer característica fora do padrão de beleza nesse verão, mas quem são as mulheres que a marca contrata para promover seus produtos?
Que cena mais linda, será que eu estou atrapalhando o padrãozinho aí?
O discurso em um tom imperativo para que você não tenha vergonha do seu corpo cai por terra quando não existem pessoas gordas no quadro de funcionários, ou ainda pior, quando não há também uma campanha interna de conscientização contra a gordofobia e seus funcionários continuam tendo atitudes gordofóbicas.
Quando a dupla César Menotti e Fabiano lançou a música Gordinha, eu escrevi esse post problematizando a letra dessa e de outras músicas do tipo, e só faltei ser apedrejada. Várias meninas gordas amaram, se sentiram homenageadas por uma letra totalmente pejorativa e falaram que essa música dava visibilidade às mulheres gordas, que nunca são citadas como musas em músicas românticas. A partir disso, a gente imagina que os dois se relacionem com mulheres gordas, correto? Ora, eles cantam isso, as gordinhas são musas deles!

Não, de maneira alguma! Eu quero mesmo é que o ballet fixo da Anitta conte com pelo menos uma gorda, e que ela pare de dar declarações gordofóbicas sobre dietas e comidas por aí. Não adianta se exibir em um número, postar uma foto com as dançarinas e dizer que elas arrasam, se não vê “capacidade” (quem viu o número no Criança Esperança atestou que as bailarinas eram ótimas!) em pelo menos uma delas para integrar o quadro de bailarinas para turnês.
Vamos cobrar representatividade sim, mas que vá além do discurso superficial. Precisamos deixar de ser apenas partes de um discurso visando exclusivamente vendas para cobrarmos ações efetivas no combate à gordofobia e nas ações de body positive.
